The Arc of Tempe: Life Skills Program
The Life Skills Program at The Arc of Tempe is so unique! Our program differs from others because we take the time to teach the life skill, implement it into daily life, and then test the participants at the recreation center to see if they have retained the information.
Our Life Skills program consists of focusing on one Life Skill a month, breaking each skill down into four sub topics and learning about them each one week at a time. We take topics that are in their daily life; skills that some participants may excel at while others may struggle with. With this variety we are able to help and educate all that walk through our door. In this diverse educational environment, they are able to learn from one another with the goal of retaining the information. With our Life Skills program they are taking home so much more than we could have ever imagined. Participants are learning how to manage their money, how to communicate while the community, and basic independent life skills that will allow them to better care for themselves. If you have any questions about The Arc of Tempe’s Life Skills program please call or email Samantha Mason.
